Says Muslims most focus on their religious activities in a peaceful and undisturbed atmosphere

Ramadan being a Holy Month of Islam which requires abstinence from countless of things, Kano State Censorship Board in order to stay in line with the Do’s and Don’ts of Ramadan,  has ordered the immediate suspension of all entertainment centers across the state, including event centers (gala houses) and Disc Jockeys popularly known as DJ operators.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, on Tuesday. The statement clearly explains that the order takes effect starting from exactly 10:00pm on Wednesday and to all remain closed till the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan, while the date for reopening, particularly during the Eid celebrations, will be announced at the appropriate time

Following the board’s decision, it was explained that the decision was necessary in order for the residents of Kano to observe the Ramadan fast and carry out their religious activities in a peaceful and undisturbed atmosphere.

The Board therefore urges all stakeholder to strictly adhere to the directive in accordance with the law establishing the agency. It noted that the measure forms part of its mandate to ensure strict adherence to regulations guiding entertainment activities in the state.

The board prayed for a peaceful and healthy observance of the holy month and prayed God to allow everyone to witness the blessed month in mercy and prosperity.
