Yobe celebration reflects on decades of Islamic guidance and community impact

The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Yobe State chapter, has marked 50 years of its existence with a call to deepen its commitment to Islamic teachings and service to humanity.

Speaking during the anniversary celebration held at his palace in Potiskum, the Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers praised the organisation for its enduring role in strengthening Islam and supporting society.

The Emir said the milestone was a moment of gratitude, reflecting on how JNI’s activities over the decades have positively touched lives across Yobe State and beyond.

He noted that the organisation has contributed significantly to peace, social justice and development, adding that its programmes have helped strengthen faith and community harmony.

According to him, JNI has remained a source of hope and moral guidance, not only for Muslims but also for the wider society through its commitment to unity and compassion.

The Emir also acknowledged the challenges facing the Muslim community and urged members of the organisation to remain united and resolute in addressing them through collective effort.

He expressed appreciation to past and present members of JNI for their dedication, calling on the current generation to uphold the vision and values laid down by the organisation’s founders.

The event ended with a renewed call for service, as participants pledged to continue advancing the mission of JNI and sustaining its role as a force for positive change guided by Islamic principles.
