Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced strict penalties for expatriates who overstay their visas during the Hajj season, as part of efforts to enforce pilgrimage regulations and maintain order.

According to the ministry, offenders may face fines of up to SR50,000, imprisonment for up to six months, and eventual deportation from the Kingdom.

Authorities said the rules are aimed at ensuring compliance with Hajj regulations and protecting the safety and security of pilgrims throughout the season.

The ministry urged all residents and visitors to respect the law and cooperate with security agencies during the pilgrimage period.

It also called on the public to report any violations by contacting 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Region, or 999 in other parts of the country.
