Group says move undermines Muslim unity and contradicts the interests of Islamic countries

The International Union of Muslim Scholars has warned that normalising relations with Israel goes against the interests of Islamic countries and urged Muslim nations to reject any moves in that direction.

In a statement reported by International Union of Muslim Scholars, the group said it strongly opposes any political arrangements that it believes undermine the sovereignty and independence of Muslim countries.

It described normalisation with Israel as support for occupation and called for a united stance among Islamic nations against external pressure to establish such ties.

The union also criticised ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza, Lebanon and other regions, describing them as severe violations and calling for greater international accountability.

It urged Muslim countries not to link diplomatic or regional agreements with any form of recognition or normalisation with Israel, saying such moves would legitimise occupation.

The statement added that such policies conflict with international law and moral principles, and reaffirmed its rejection of any process it says legitimises actions against Palestinians.
