Mecca recorded the highest levels of rainfall across Saudi Arabia with the Sarar area in the Taif governorate receiving 64mm of rain, according to a new report from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture published yesterday.
The report, which tracked precipitation levels over the past 24 hours, showed that rainfall was recorded in 10 regions across the Kingdom, with data collected from 129 hydrological and climatic monitoring stations.
The regions affected included Riyadh, Mecca, Qassim, the Eastern Province, Asir, Hail, Jazan, Najran, Al Baha, and Al Jouf.
In the Mecca region, Al Hada Park in Taif recorded 42.8mm, followed by Madrakah in Al Jamum with 40.4mm, and Al Shafa in Taif with 27.3mm. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah received 24 millimeters, while Al Sudairah in Taif recorded 23mm, Al Marqaban in Adham, and Bani Saad in Maysan received 20.4mm.
In the Asir region, Tamniyah in Abha recorded 29.4mm, while Al Shaaf in Abha received 27.2mm. Other notable figures include 19.56mm in Bisha, 19mm in Mehr in Bisha, 18.1mm in Bani Amr in Al Namas, and 18mm in Al Usran in Sarat Ubaid.
In the Jazan region, Al Dair recorded 23.7mm, while Al Jabal Al Aswad in Al Rayth received 4.9mm, Baysh 4.8mm, and Baysh Dam 2.79mm.
Rain was also recorded across Al Baha, where Al Baha city measured 11.8mm, Barharah in Al Mandaq recorded 3.5mm, Bani Hassan in Al Mandaq saw 2.1mm, and Qalwa recorded 2mm.
In the Eastern Province, Umm Al Shafallah train station in Al Qarya Al Ulya received 6mm, Al Rafia 4.4mm, and Al Shihiyah 2.6mm.
Riyadh experienced moderate rainfall, with Kharoub farms in Shaqra recording 4mm, Diriyah 3.6mm, King Khalid International Airport 2.9mm, and Al Thumama Airport 2.6mm.
In the Najran region, Habona station recorded 4.2mm, Al Namsa in Badr Al Janub 3.6mm, Badr Al Janub 2.7mm, and Hama Bathar 1.4 millimeters. Al Shanan in Hail recorded 3mm, while Al Hamad in Al Qurayyat in Al Jouf recorded 1.4mm, and Fawara in Buraidah in Al Qassim received 2.4mm.
