JIBWIS announces high-profile guests for 29th annual recitation event

The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has announced that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, will grace its 29th National Annual Quranic Recitation Competition.
The one-week Islamic event is scheduled to begin on December 21, 2025, and will take place in Abuja, drawing participants and guests from across Nigeria.
JIBWIS made this known in a press release issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Ahmad Muhammad Ashiru, under the leadership of Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir.
According to the statement, the opening ceremony of the competition will have Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, as the Special Guest of Honour.
The organisation said the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, will serve as Chairman of the competition, highlighting its importance to the Muslim Ummah.
It added that the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddin Abbas, alongside former Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, are expected to attend as distinguished guests.
JIBWIS also disclosed that the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and former Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, will speak at the event.
The competition, organised through JIBWIS’ Directorate of Knowledge and Enlightenment, will be hosted by Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, Special Adviser to the President and Director-General of JIBWIS, Guzape.
