The Bangladesh Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock announces the sale of milk, eggs, and meat to the public at affordable prices during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
This was disclosed in a media statement, which also explains that the program will continue for a total of 26 days in Ramadan under the initiative of the ministry and the Department of Livestock.
In line with the program, the ministry held a meeting to determine how to ensure an uninterrupted supply of meat, eggs and milk to the markets and keep prices stable ahead of Ramadan. The meeting was chaired by Farida Akhter, Advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.
It was decided that the divisional directors and district livestock officers under the Department of Livestock will take initiatives to sell milk, eggs, and meat at affordable prices in divisional cities and district towns outside Dhaka in coordination with the district administration after taking the local market situation into consideration.
This program will be initially conducted in 25 important places in the Dhaka city corporations in consideration of the needs of the people and the food products will be available at mobile sales centers throughout the month. A decision has also been taken to probably increase the number of sales centers for mobile sales through coordination with local entrepreneurs and relevant stakeholders.
