The Palestinian Al-Ahrar Movement has strongly criticised the continued closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, saying it shows what it called “bad intentions” by Israeli authorities.
In a statement from Ramallah, the group said shutting the mosque for over a month is dangerous and could be part of a plan to take full control of the site and possibly replace it with a temple.
The movement called on Palestinians to stand up and protect the mosque, resist settler attacks, and stay united.
It also urged the Palestinian Authority to speak out, take the case to the International Court of Justice, and raise global awareness about the situation.
Al-Ahrar further called on the Muslim world and the United Nations Security Council to act quickly to protect Al-Aqsa, maintain its religious status, and respond to the long closure of the site.
