The Plateau State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has confirmed that four of its Muslim members were killed and 10 others are still missing after Sunday night’s attack on Anguwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area.

According to the group, at least 27 people were killed in the attack, which happened around 7:30 pm when the gunmen were said to be on military uniforms and motorcycles.

In a statement signed by its secretary, Dr Salim Musa Umar, JNI said findings from Muslim communities confirmed that four Muslims were among those killed, while 10 others are still missing. The victims’ bodies were identified at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

The group said the missing persons have not been heard from since Sunday, and their phone lines remain switched off. It also confirmed that two injured victims are currently receiving treatment at JUTH.

JNI expressed sympathy to the affected families and urged residents to remain calm, while also commending efforts to restore peace in the area.
