The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said on Saturday that it carried out 19 attacks on US and other occupation bases in Iraq and nearby areas over the past 24 hours.

The group, in a statement shared on its Telegram channel, said its fighters used dozens of drones and missiles in the attacks. It did not give full details about the locations or the damage caused.

These attacks come as tensions in West Asia continue to rise, with the US-Israel conflict involving Iran now in its 36th day. Iran-backed militias have repeatedly struck US military positions in Iraq and nearby countries in recent weeks.

New attacks were also reported. One targeted the headquarters of the Iran-backed Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) in al-Qaim, western Iraq. Another hit the PMF’s 34th Brigade base in Mosul. There is no official word yet on casualties or damage.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, together with the PMF, is made up of Shia armed groups that often act as agents in regional conflicts.

The US Embassy in Baghdad issued a security warning, saying Iran-aligned militias could attack central Baghdad in the next 24–48 hours. The embassy said US citizens, businesses, diplomatic offices, hotels, airports, and other American-linked sites could be targeted. It also warned of the risk of kidnappings.

The embassy asked the public to report any information about planned attacks or the people involved. “Help us stop attacks against the US Embassy in Baghdad or elsewhere. If you know anything about Iran linked militias or those responsible, report it today,” the embassy said.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq said these attacks are in response to what it calls Zionist-American aggression against Iran, which began on Saturday, February 28.
