The Hamas has called on Palestinians in Jerusalem and other occupied areas to visit and protect Al-Aqsa Mosque after it reopened following more than 40 days of closure by Israeli forces.
In a statement, the group urged people to go to the mosque, stay present, and help take care of it. It asked Palestinians to remain firm and not allow any attempt to control or change the mosque.
Hamas also said Friday should be a day to renew support for Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa. It called on people to continue standing strong and protect the mosque from any new measures.
The group described Al-Aqsa as an important symbol for Palestinians and the wider Muslim community, saying it remains a shared responsibility.
It added that people must continue to defend the mosque and be ready to make sacrifices to protect it and keep its religious importance.
