Ministry of Awqaf Analyzes 2025 Growth

Programs grow across mosques, schools, families, and online Islamic services

By Sadiq Abdulfatah

Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs says it greatly expanded its religious outreach work in 2025, reaching large numbers of people across Qatar through mosques, education centres, community visits, and online platforms.

The ministry said it delivered more than 111,000 sermons and lessons in mosques across the country. It also organised over 7,200 public lectures that reached many people with Islamic teachings and guidance.

Women’s programmes were also increased, with more than 2,000 activities reaching about 111,000 participants. The ministry also ran many Quran learning classes for students in different centres.

About 22,400 students took part in Quran memorisation programmes, while nearly 7,850 children learned basic Arabic reading skills to support their religious education.

Outside mosques, the ministry carried out over 32,000 visits to government offices and community centres, reaching more than 63,000 people. It also delivered 1,800 lectures in prisons and social service centres.

In schools, around 780 lectures were held in cooperation with education authorities, reaching over 28,000 students. The ministry also organised Quran competitions and learning programmes that involved nearly 35,000 participants.

On religious guidance, more than 219,000 fatwas (religious answers) were issued through phone calls and online services during the year.

The ministry said its programmes focused on teaching good morals, supporting families, guiding young people, and promoting social responsibility and unity in society.

It also said its international Islamic institute enrolled 178 students from 36 countries to train future scholars in moderate Islamic teachings.

The Islamic website IslamWeb also recorded huge global traffic, with millions of users and visits in 2025, making it one of the biggest Islamic knowledge platforms online.

Officials said the overall progress shows Qatar’s effort to spread Islamic knowledge in a simple and modern way while maintaining balanced teachings.
