Saudi-based Islamic body commends Malaysia’s role in promoting Quran, knowledge, and global Islamic cooperation

Mohammad Al-Issa (Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and former Saudi Minister of Justice) has praised Malaysia for what he described as its strong commitment to promoting Islamic values and supporting international Islamic programmes.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Iman and Science Competition, he said Malaysia continues to serve as an example in strengthening Muslim engagement with the Quran through recitation, understanding, and practice. The programme was organised in collaboration with Malaysia’s Islamic authorities.

He noted that the Muslim World League is working globally to promote Quranic values among young people, and said Malaysia stands out because of its strong faith culture and respect for the Quran.

Al-Issa also thanked the Malaysian government and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for supporting the initiative, saying it reflects shared efforts to strengthen Islamic values internationally.

Malaysia’s Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs said such programmes help combine faith with modern knowledge in a balanced way.

He added that Malaysia will continue to support initiatives that promote moderation, harmony, and a correct understanding of Islam.

The competition was held online during Ramadan and aimed to promote learning, cooperation between countries, and shared humanitarian values through Islamic teachings.
