Senior Iranian general claims US suffered strategic failure in conflict

A senior commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) has said US President Donald Trump will never be able to defeat the Iranian nation, claiming Washington has suffered a major strategic failure.

IRGC political deputy Brigadier General Yadollah Javani made the remarks during a public gathering in Arak, where thousands of people reportedly showed support for Iran following what he described as US-Israeli aggression that began on February 28.

He said the United States, Israel, and their allies wrongly believed that a large-scale military attack would overwhelm Iran within 48 hours. He added that this plan failed due to Iran’s response.

Javani claimed that Iranian armed forces carried out multiple waves of retaliatory strikes against what he described as sensitive US and Israeli targets across the region.

He said the situation proves that the United States, despite its military and technological strength, has failed to weaken Iran or achieve its main objectives in the conflict.

The commander also said another goal of the alleged US plan was to create internal collapse in Iran, but he claimed this effort also failed and the country remained unified.

His remarks come as diplomatic efforts and ceasefire discussions continue, including talks linked to Islamabad. Iran has not fully agreed to new negotiations, citing ongoing US demands and a naval blockade as key concerns.

Javani also claimed that Iran has emerged stronger from the conflict, saying it now holds significant influence in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route.
