A mosque in Rotterdam, Netherlands, was vandalized overnight by a group of unidentified individuals, prompting concern from the Muslim community and mosque leaders.

According to the Islamic Foundation Netherlands, six people targeted the Mevlana Mosque, damaging part of its wall, throwing beer bottles at the building, and urinating on the mosque premises before fleeing.

The foundation said mosque officials repeatedly called the police during the incident, but officers arrived after the attackers had left.

It expressed concern over what it described as increasing attacks against Muslims and mosques, saying such incidents leave worshippers feeling unsafe.

The organization also questioned the delayed police response and stressed the need to protect Muslims’ right to worship without fear or intimidation.

An official complaint has been filed, and the foundation has called for a full investigation into the attack.
