The supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, has called on officials to strengthen unity, promote forgiveness, and improve cooperation in governance and society.
According to a statement shared by deputy spokesman Mullah Hamdullah Fitrat, he made the remarks during a meeting with governors, judges, and religious officials from several provinces in Afghanistan’s northwest and northeast regions.
Akhundzada urged officials to lead by example by adhering to Islamic principles in their conduct and ensuring governance is guided through consultation with religious scholars.
He stressed that patience, unity, and regular scholarly gatherings are essential for strengthening faith and improving leadership, warning that division weakens societies.
The IEA leader also encouraged reconciliation and forgiveness among communities, saying officials should help build harmony and reduce conflict.
He further called on leaders to carry out their responsibilities sincerely, promote Islamic teachings, and encourage people toward unity and obedience to religious guidance.
He added that scholars should remain actively engaged in guiding society through continuous learning and religious discussions.
