MULAN Congratulates Muslim New Wigs, Urges Commitment to Justice

Association calls on newly admitted lawyers to uphold integrity, fairness and Islamic values in legal practice

By Sadiq from

The Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) has congratulated Muslim graduates of the Nigerian Law School admitted as Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria at the July 2026 Call to Bar Ceremony, urging them to remain steadfast in the pursuit of justice.

This was contained in a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the association, Abdulrahman Ahmad Paiko, Esq.

MULAN described the Call to Bar as the reward for years of discipline, sacrifice, perseverance and trust in Allah (SWT), noting that while the achievement is worthy of celebration, it also comes with the responsibility of upholding justice without fear, favour or compromise.

The association reminded the new lawyers that the legal profession is more than a career, describing it as a public trust that requires honesty, fairness and accountability before both society and Allah. It cited Surah An-Nisā’ (4:135), which commands believers to stand firmly for justice regardless of personal relationships, wealth or status.

According to the statement, a lawyer’s success should not be measured by the size of a legal practice or professional recognition, but by an unwavering commitment to truth, equity and justice, even when personal sacrifice is required.

MULAN observed that Nigeria needs legal practitioners whose integrity cannot be compromised, whose professional judgment remains independent and whose commitment to justice is unwavering. It added that every legal opinion, client representation and professional decision carries both legal and spiritual responsibility.

The association urged the new wigs to practise with humility, excellence and the consciousness that the oath they have taken is not only before men but also before Allah. It called on them to demonstrate fairness in advocacy, uphold the dignity of the legal profession and contribute to the advancement of justice.

MULAN also encouraged the newly admitted lawyers to identify with the association, describing it as a platform that promotes professional excellence, ethical legal practice, intellectual development and Islamic values through mentorship, continuous legal education and service.

The association prayed that Allah grants the new wigs beneficial knowledge, sincerity, honour, integrity and success in their legal careers, while enabling them to remain steadfast in serving humanity and promoting justice.
