The governor of Mirjaveh, Mokhtar Mohsen Mobaraki, announced the death of Sheikh Mohammad Anwar Rigi, the Sunni imam and preacher of the “Ali ibn Abi Talib” mosque in the city, following a terrorist attack carried out by unknown armed individuals.

In his statement, Governor Mobaraki described the attack as a target aimed at destabilizing security and inciting discord among the people of Sistan and Baluchestan province.

He said investigations into the incident are still ongoing and affirmed that security agencies are committed to efforts to apprehend and punish the perpetrators.

The governor enjoined citizens to stay calm, remain vigilant, and rely on official sources for news updates, urging them not to allow the incident to be exploited to stir up discord.

Ali Kord, the representative of the city of Khah in the Iranian parliament, also condemned the attack and called for strong actions against the perpetrators and their supporters.

He described the incident as a “cowardly terrorist attack executed by criminal mercenaries,” and emphasized that such criminal acts will not undermine the resolve of the province’s residents who are stationed on the borders but will rather enhance their unity, solidarity, and cohesion.
