Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has urged residents to draw lessons from the life of Prophet Muhammad by promoting peace, unity, honesty, patience, humility and selflessness during the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud celebration.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, on August 24, 2026, the governor called on Muslims in Bauchi State and across Nigeria to use the occasion to reflect on their relationship with Allah and fellow citizens.

Mohammed expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the people the opportunity to witness another Eid-el-Maulud, describing the celebration as a time for spiritual reflection and renewal.

He said the teachings and exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad continue to offer guidance to humanity, particularly through the Prophet’s emphasis on peace, kindness, generosity, truthfulness and service to others.

The governor also urged residents to strengthen the bonds of unity and brotherhood, noting that Bauchi’s ethnic, cultural and religious diversity should be viewed as an advantage rather than a source of division.

“Bauchi State is blessed with a rich diversity of people and traditions. We must continue to appreciate our differences, reject prejudice, and extend hands of fellowship to one another irrespective of religious or ethnic background. Our collective progress depends on our ability to live together in peace and harmony,” he said.

Mohammed called on Muslim faithful to intensify prayers for peace, security and economic prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria, particularly in view of the challenges confronting the country.

He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to its development agenda, saying priority would continue to be given to healthcare, education, agriculture and infrastructure.

According to him, the administration remains focused on completing ongoing projects and leaving behind a lasting legacy of development and prosperity for the people of Bauchi State.

On security, the governor said maintaining peace remained a major priority of his administration, adding that security agencies were working to safeguard lives and property across the state.

He cautioned individuals and groups against actions capable of triggering violence, exploiting ethnic or religious differences or undermining the peace of the state.

Mohammed warned that anyone found engaging in such activities would face the full weight of the law.

The governor appreciated the people for their continued support and cooperation and wished the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, blessed and hitch-free Eid-el-Maulud celebration.

He also prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and prosperity for Bauchi State and Nigeria.
