Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on Muslims to stay united and keep strong faith during what he described as a painful time for the Muslim world.

He made the call on Wednesday while speaking at the International Quran Recitation Competition Awards Ceremony.

Erdogan said many Muslim nations are facing war, hardship, and humanitarian crises. He mentioned Palestine, Lebanon, the Gulf region, Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.

He said wherever people look in the Muslim world, they are seeing pain, tears, and suffering.

The Turkish leader also criticised the silence of what he called the so-called civilized world, saying innocent children and helpless civilians are being killed while many remain quiet.

He further criticised those who often speak about justice, equality, and human rights, saying current events have revealed their true stance.

Erdogan said Muslims can overcome these challenges only by trusting one another, helping one another, and standing together.

He urged Muslims to avoid division, hatred, and unnecessary arguments, adding that they must act as one united body.

His remarks come as several Muslim countries continue to face conflict and humanitarian emergencies.
