A new Arabic language teaching programme for non-native speakers has been launched at the Grand Mosque as part of efforts to improve learning and enhance the experience of visitors.

The initiative is being implemented by the Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in partnership with the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language. It aims to strengthen the educational value of Quranic study circles and make learning more accessible to participants from different linguistic backgrounds.

The programme introduces a specialised training track for teachers who lead Quranic study circles within the Grand Mosque. It focuses on equipping them with practical skills to teach basic Arabic in a way that is directly connected to understanding the Holy Quran.

As part of the training, teachers are being provided with simplified learning materials designed to make lessons clearer and more effective for non-Arabic speakers. The approach is intended to improve both teaching methods and students’ comprehension during study sessions.

Officials say the initiative will help bridge language gaps, allowing more visitors and pilgrims to better engage with Quranic teachings during their time at the mosque.

The programme also reflects a broader effort to improve educational standards at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque through structured training and curriculum development.

By strengthening teachers’ capacity and refining learning methods, the organisers aim to create a more meaningful and enriching educational environment for all participants.

The collaboration highlights ongoing efforts to promote the Arabic language globally while supporting religious learning at Islam’s holiest sites.
