Qatar’s Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) will host a special family programme on May 9 focused on the traditions, art and heritage of Hajj.

The interactive event, titled “Family Day: Hajj – Traditions, Art, and Heritage,” will take place at the museum atrium from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Organisers said the programme is designed to raise cultural awareness and offer families an educational experience that explores the spiritual journey of Hajj through engaging activities.

Visitors will be able to learn about Hajj rituals, history and the artistic heritage linked to the pilgrimage through a series of educational stations presented in a simple and interactive style.

The event will also feature hands-on activities aimed at children and parents, encouraging participation and helping families better understand the values and symbolism of Hajj.

Officials said the initiative is intended to strengthen the connection between younger generations and Islamic heritage in a modern learning environment.

The programme forms part of a wider series of family events organized by the Museum of Islamic Art to combine education, culture and interactive discovery.

The museum said such activities also highlight the growing role of museums as important spaces for learning and community engagement.
